Dinner Plate™ Cupcake Japanese Iris

Availability: Out of stock

Dinner Plate™ Cupcake Japanese Iris (Iris ensata 'Cupcake') produces large, six-inch pure white ruffled, broad-petaled blossoms with splashes and streaks of lavender and yellow for a glorious effect as they gleam in the sun! Looking like a creamy dollop of white frosting, these are fantastic long-stem blooms and the foliage looks great until frost!

Japanese Iris bloom from early to mid-summer, calling butterflies and beneficial pollinators from far and wide! These enormous blooms will have a few passersby stopping to ogle them as well! They form dense clumps of vertical rich green blades of foliage for upright texture.

Dinner Plate™ Cupcake can get 2-3 feet tall and wide, readily fitting into existing garden layouts, containers and planters, and small spaces with ease! Preferring well-drained wet soil and very moist garden environments, any area that isn’t stagnant will suit these perennial rhizomes just fine!

Planting and Application:

Dinner Plate™ looks divine in a cottage and perennial gardens! But you’ll want to plant a few extras in your pollinator and cutting gardens too! Bring these fantastic focal points indoors for your bouquets, snipping them when they’re barely opening for a long-lasting display! Ideal accents and thrillers in container water gardens and moist planters, any sunny porch or patio can include these fantastic accents!

Cupcake Japanese Iris is a type of Iris that requires continually moist soils, and thrives in damp borders, pond or stream edges. Create a garden at the end of the gutters or a Rain Garden. Create a moist patio garden, or en masse as erosion control along stream banks.
