Pandora's Box Daylily
The Daylily Pandora's Box, 'Hemerocallis ‘Pandora’s Box’, has very fragrant lightly ruffled, white petals with a purple throat and a flower size of 4”. It has dark green foliage and will reach a height of 24-26” and a plant spread of 36”.
‘Pandora’s Box’ will bloom from May through July, with outstanding color and it is a definite rebloomer!
‘Pandora’s Box’ prefers a full sun area that is well-drained. Although the blooms will last only for one day, there are many blooms on strong stems that rise above tall grassy foliage, (remove in late fall). Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline. Plant daylilies in sites that provide well-drained soil and plenty of sun.
‘Pandora’s Box’ is considered to be pest and deer resistant. Use for cut flowers, massing, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs. Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion.
The ‘Pandora’s Box’ daylily can survive many harsh conditions that other plants cannot including: polluted city environments, slopes, poor and dry soils, near pavement that is salted in winter, and under Black Walnut trees (not affected by juglone).
This cheery little plant is a lovely, profuse bloomer!
