Modern Design Daylily
Apricots and Burgundy
Hemerocallis Modern Design, Hemerocallis 'Modern Design', is an excellent and vigorous plant that produces 4" wide blooms. The flowers are light apricot with a pronounced plum burgundy eye and a matching picotee edge.
‘Modern Design’ is a very good bloomer during the summer, and then reliably follows up with another surge of reblooms later in the season!
One of the Designer Daylily™ Collection, it has lightly ruffled petals that are gently recurved.
Heat and humidity tolerant, Modern Design is considered a premium daylily because it shows outstanding bloom performance, produces vibrant flowers, and has winter hardiness in northern zones.
Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month.
Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline.
Use ‘Modern Design’ daylily for color in shrub borders and in perennial beds.
Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion.
It also attracts butterflies.
