Elegant Explosion Daylily
Orange Riot of Ruffles
Hemerocallis Elegant Explosion, Hemerocallis 'Elegant Explosion', is a reblooming plant that bursts forth with an intense orange gold color. The display is magnificent!
This dynamic daylily has 4 “flowers that appear in midsummer and then again later in the season. ‘Elegant Explosion’ has heavily ruffled, recurved petals that grow on top of branched scapes.
The profusion of blooms on the scapes can add up to 22 or more buds apiece!
Individual flowers last only one day, but since each plant produces many buds, the total blooming time of a well-established clump may last more than a month; attracts butterflies.
Once established, the daylily can be an excellent groundcover on slopes because it has roots that hold soil against erosion. Divide every 3-5 years, or when the number of flower buds and the size of bloom begin to decline.
In areas that receive less than 6 hours of sun during the day, your daylilies will probably produce fewer and smaller blooms, and the foliage may not be as robust.
Use 'Elegant Explosion’ for stand alone plantings, edging, in borders or in mixed containers and tubs. Planted together in large numbers, they quickly crowd out weeds and make a carefree and colorful ground cover.‘Elegant Explosion’ also makes a beautiful floral arrangement.
Use this ‘Elegant Explosion’ to create large swathes of vibrant color in the summer landscape!
