Introducing the Arabian Nights Dahlia (Dahlia 'Arabian Night')! An enormous Dahlia with multiple rows of cupped petals, in a bruised, deep-burgundy to maroon hue! The depth of the color is sure to stand out among lighter-hued flowers and attract pollinators from near and far!

The succulent green foliage emerges early in the spring followed by the non-stop blooms that last from summer until frost, giving you a very long season of bloom! Whether in porch pots, planters or garden beds alike any sunny area with fertile, moist soil will keep the blooms returning! Dahlia flowers readily return with just a bit of deadheading.

The symmetrically arranged petals unfurl into enormous pom-poms of saturated, deep, dramatic color! Pollinators will adore these blossoms as much as you will! Adding mysterious color and drama to landscape beds and planters alike!

Planting and Application:

Add these huge flowers as mystifying in floral design vases or bouquets as they are edging garden beds and cutting garden borders. The dark blooms compliment Cottage and Perennial beds and borders as they do porch, balcony and patio pots and containers!

The dramatic coloration stands out among mixed planting and is delightful in butterfly gardens as they are nestled between larger shrubs and perennials, easily tucking into an existing garden or planter due to their smaller, compact size.

  • Dramatic Dark Burgundy Blooms
  • Full Pom-Poms of Cupped Petals
  • Succulent Green Foliage
  • Long-Lasting Blossoms
  • Porch, Patio, Balcony Pots & Sunny Garden Beds

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Dahlia typically die back to the ground after the first frost, so northern gardeners should dig their tubers and store them in a garage or cold shed, but warm climates can keep these in the ground and once spring temperatures arrive they will begin growing anew. Plant in moderately moist, fertile soil that won't become soggy. Mulch the site well to hold in water and insulate the tubers.

Dahlia tubers can be dug up in fall after frost and stored in all growing zones! The foliage will fade in the fall and wilt with colder nights. In very cold climates, to save your tubers for the next year, dig up the plants after the first frost. Let them dry out, and then place in paper bags or boxes in a cool place. Throughout the winter, sprinkle a little water on the tubers if they are dry. If you live in a warmer frost-free climate, leave them in the ground and just trim out stems to keep your plants looking their best; fresh growth will appear in the spring.
