Peppermint Crape Myrtle
Stunning White Edged Blooms
Crape Myrtle Peppermint, Lagerstroemia indica 'Peppermint Lace', displays a profusion of stunning blooms throughout summer. The large clusters of white-edged candy-pink flowers appear in July and beyond!
The foliage is dark green (sometimes a deep olive) and has oval leaves. Peppermint Crape Myrtle is a vigorous grower, is easy to keep healthy, and resists mildew even in humid climates.
This variety is a semi-dwarf, so it doesn’t take up quite the space of the traditional varieties. The Peppermint Crape Myrtle can be planted and left to its own devices, or it can be pruned to a shorter h eight, or even into tree form.
It works well in a hedge or in a grouping, but it is mostly about the later-season flower show!
This crape myrtle attracts bees and butterflies, too. Plant them parallel to driveways, along sidewalks or paths; they are especially dramatic below second-story decks and balconies because the flowers appear on the crown.
