If you love the happy charm of fuschia pink, or just want a bright "pop" of contrasting color in an otherwise sedate space…Back to the Fuschia Perennial Salvia is for you. Jumpstart your summer with these outstanding Proven Winner® perennials.

Planting and Application:

Field-tested for high performance, Back to the Fuschia Salvia produces plenty of nectar for hummingbirds, butterflies and honeybees in your neighborhood. The flower power opens from the bottom of each long spire in a delightfully long-lasting display.

  • This tidy perennial comes back year after year and produces a neat clump of aromatic foliage with stiff, well-branched stems. Watch as the tall spires elongate and the deep purplish-red buds open into that noteworthy dark pink shade!
  • Use plenty in a dramatic drift or ribbon of bright color near the front of your garden borders. Snip the flower spires regularly for cut flower arrangements, and you'll actually encourage additional rebloom!
  • These nectar-rich plants make terrific additions to Butterfly and Pollinator Gardens. The blooms will be abuzz with life all day, every day!
  • Jazz up your outdoor spaces with their charming form and charismatic color. This special Salvia partners beautifully with other plants as varied as sophisticated Roses to rustic Daisies and elongated Allium "pom-poms".
  • Salvia fills a hole in the flowering cycle just as Iris and Peony are finishing. Let Back to the Fuschia shine brightly for you in the late spring and early summer!

#ProPlantTips for Care:

They'll flower best in full sun, with at least six hours of sunlight a day. Give them well-drained soil…or keep them in patio pots if you need to improve drainage.

  • Allow them the room to reach the Mature Spread listed on the Plant Highlights. For mass plantings, stagger several rows in a zigzagging pattern 20 inches apart from center to center.
  • We recommend you supply them an even amount of water on a regular basis. Get expert watering tips from the NatureHills.com Horticulture Team.
  • In late fall, prune the dried foliage back and tidy the garden waste away. Watch for thrilling signs of life in early spring from the crown of the plant.
