Clematis Victor Hugo
Clematis Victor Hugo, Clematis 'Victor Hugo', is free flowering clematis that is covered with 3" violet flowers that have dark violet tipped anthers.
Victor Hugo has a very vigorous non-clinging habit, making it an ideal ground cover. (Named after Victor Hugo, who wrote Les Miserables among other things.)
This clematis can also be used in the front of the border; this unusual clematis with it’s somewhat old world charm, blends perfectly with old style cottage garden plants too.
Blooming from June through September, Victor Hugo will remain evergreen in protected conditions. Victor Hugo is a dependable clematis; needs to be pruned lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and any dead or weak stems should be removed.
Producing a profusion of gorgeous flowers from mid-summer to autumn, Victor Hugo is an ideal plant for growing with climbing roses.
A lovely color and a respectable size, this clematis is a versatile, amazing plant!
