Horstmann Cedar

Out of stock

The Cedar Horstmann, Cedrus a. 'Horstmann', has icy-blue foliage on short upsweeping branches.  It will become a stout small tree in time; dwarf when compared to the species, but still a tree. (A dwarf upright of the Atlantic Cedar.)

It has multiple leaders reaching upwards, and side branches that are horizontal, all clothed in the blue foliage; superb where space is limited!

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system.  Watering can be reduced after establishment.  Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring.

Because of its multiple leaders and horizontal branching, it displays an unusual form; looks very much like a Dwarf Blue Spruce.

This semi-dwarf selection of Cedar Horstmann has densely-spaced icy-blue needles, and its architectural, irregular outline provides great interest in the garden year-round!
