Even if you live in colder areas, Canadian Harmony Peach tree (Prunus 'Canadian Harmony') is a productive and pretty tree. It blooms a bit later than other varieties, which protects your harvest from those nasty late spring frosts.

With a well-balanced flavor, the Canadian Harmony fruit is also very versatile. This is truly an "all-arounder" that can be used for just about anything peach-related.

It's juicy and very delicious. Enjoy the large, firm peaches fresh or freeze them for use later in the year. The pit pulls away cleanly, which makes preparation smooth and easy.

The yellow flesh is firm and displays red near the pit. It doesn't brown as fast as other varieties, so makes a nice presentation on a plate or in salads.

It's also a good keeper. You'll get a lot of value from these peaches, as they have a long shelf life.

With a zippy hint of acidity, this sweet yellow peach stands up to baking. Use it to make amazing pies and cobblers. It cans beautifully and freezes well.

This cold-hardy variety was introduced from Ontario, Canada. It's tough enough for northern gardens, but is also successful across a wide swathe of the United States.

It's a self-pollinating variety, so you will only need one tree. This makes it possible for people with small yards to grow their own fresh fruit.

Canadian Harmony has a well-deserved reputation as a good producer. Plan now for how you'll prep and use your harvest. Who can you share your bounty with? There are bound to be hands raised all around, with a great-tasting peach like this one.

Your family and friends can enjoy fresh fruit for several months with careful planning!

Did you know you can keep fruiting trees much smaller with an annual summer prune? Control the height and spread to your preferred dimension for easy harvest.

High density planting is key to success in a tiny backyard. Watch our YouTube videos to see how to create 3-in-1 or 4-in-1 plantings. Save space, and get a longer window of harvest.

#ProPlantTips for Care

Peach trees need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day. They do best in full sun locations, and really love a spot with morning sun.

Plant them in well-drained soil. You can easily improve your drainage with a raised bed, or by creating a mounded heap of soil 3 feet wide to a depth of 12 to 18 inches above your soil line. Plant in that mound.

Apply mulch in a thick layer over the root system. Apply at least 3 to 4 inches and spread it out 3 feet from the outside of the canopy.

In late winter before bud swell, sculpt your tree into a goblet-shape with wide-spreading lateral branches at 45 degree angles. These scaffolding branches will support the weight of your yearly harvest.

Tip prune the new growth for size control if you want to keep your tree smaller. You'll need to plan to conduct an annual summer prune.

Get the most from your land and sunshine, but please hurry. Our fruiting plants sell out quickly, so order Canadian Harmony Peach trees today!

Peach Tree Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for Canadian Harmony Peach Trees to bear fruit?

Nature Hills Nursery sells fruit trees with mature root systems that are already three to four years old, so you’ll enjoy fruit sooner than you would with younger trees! Expect a young peach tree to begin fruiting by the 3rd year after you plant it.

How Fast Do Canadian Harmony Peach Trees Grow?

Be sure to plant your peach in a sunny and well-drained location. Once your Canadian Harmony (Prunus persica 'Canadian Harmony') has been established (after the first year), it can typically add 12-18 inches of new growth in a growing season. If your plants are adding less than that in a season, it may be worth your while to check the fertility level.

Where do Canadian Harmony Peach Trees Grow Best?

Peach trees grow best in well-drained, fertile soil in at least 6 hours of full sun per day or more.

Do You Need 2 Peach Trees to Produce Fruit?

All peach trees are self-fertile, however planting more than one peach tree that blooms at about the same time, boosts yields on both trees and extends your harvest time!

Harvest Times for Canadian Harmony Peach Trees

Canadian Harmonys are typically ready to harvest in July. Keep in mind exact harvest times are subject to change depending on the hardiness zones they’re being grown in.

Early-Season? Mid-Season? Late-Season? The terminology can be confusing for new peach tree growers. Weather, climate and your tree determine when it’s ripe.

When Should Canadian Harmony Peach Tree be Planted?

Bareroot peach trees can be planted in spring when they are available in your area. Container-grown peach trees can be very successfully transplanted all throughout the growing season. Check for first and last frost dates for your area with your local County Extension Office.

  • Plant bareroot peach trees in the early spring.
  • Plant container-grown trees anytime the ground is not frozen by digging a hole as deep as the soil line and twice as wide.
