Bodacious® Rhythm and Blues Salvia (Salvia x guaranitica 'Rhythm & Blues' PP #29,585) is a fantastic new Salvia that blooms sooner and blooms longer than its cousins! Dramatically royal-purple, almost cobalt blossoms and black stems tower over the dark, textured foliage! These are high-impact plants that anchor and ground your other plantings while calling pollinators and hummingbirds in droves!

If you are lucky to live in a warm climate, Rhythm and Blues is an outstanding perennial, but more northern gardeners and those with cold winters will still be able to enjoy this fast-growing Salvia as a high intensity annual for planters and garden beds! The unique hooded blooms stand out and stand tall along black stems.

Bodacious® Rhythm and Blues Salvia has scented foliage and blossoms and blooms all growing season while maintaining a fast, compact clump of pointed leaves that requires little in the way of care.

Planting and Application:

Dark brooding colors like these look fantastic in light pots and planters, drastically contrasting with white and light-colored blossoms and home exteriors! The dark stems help the saturated blossoms stand out and stand tall above the pleated, scented foliage. Go bold by pairing with other bold colors like red, hot pink and yellow for a head-turning display, or play with other purple and blue perennials for a cooling, soothing effect!

Bodacious® Salvia fits in porch and patio pots as well as in the ground as a border and focal point herbaceous perennial. Pollinator gardens and modern Cottage borders gain depth of color and cutting gardens gain a dramatic focal point for incredible bouquets!

  • Deep-Dark Purple-Blue Blooms
  • Dramatic Black Stems
  • Pointed, Textured Deep Green Foliage
  • Perennial in Warm Climates - Annual in Cooler Zones
  • Specimen & Focal Point - Pollinator, Cutting & Perennial Gardens

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Salvia plants do amazing in partial shade, however, you’ll get the best blooms in full sun. Provide an enriched, organic, well-drained location with plenty of water access.
