The highly productive Draper Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum x 'Draper'), is an introduction from the team at Michigan State University in 2003. This is a true hybrid mix of Vaccinium corymbosum.

The Draper Blueberry has one of the most complex flavors. It's a true super sweet, sub-acid treat. Often compared to Bluecrop, the superior qualities of the Draper are the firm berries, and the wonderful rich Blueberry flavor.

This early mid-season variety boasts a large, powder-blue, firm, excellently flavored fruit. With delicious flavor and excellent firmness, the fruit features consistent size and is presented in a loose cluster that easily releases the ripe fruit.

The lovely bright green foliage fills out this strong, small stature bush, and the leaves turning yellow in fall. The dainty white blossoms are a favorite of beneficial pollinators! You’ll enjoy the mid-season harvest for all your summer baking, desserts and fresh eating!

A heavy producer of uniformly shaped, medium-sized berries. Yields of 10 to 15 pounds of fruit per plant are common. Draper has very high quality and long storage life. Thicker skin gives the fruit a great crisp texture and a resistance to splitting. The color stays true, even after harvest.

How to Use Draper Blueberry Bush In The Landscape

You’ll appreciate how easy it is to pick the fruit from a Draper Blueberry. This is a leading choice for home gardens in the areas where Northern Highbush does best!

Integrating a Blueberry plant into an ornamental garden is known as edible landscaping. Providing year-round beauty, and delicious food in the summer, Draper works beautifully as an edible accent plant!

Use these shrubs for hedges, borders, mixed-shrub plantings and as great backdrops for your perennial and vegetable gardens! After all, why shouldn’t your landscaping feed you too?

Delicious Blueberries are full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, namely Vitamin E, folate, magnesium, potassium, copper, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and manganese, and are a very good source of dietary fiber. With their crisp, sweet, firm berries, Draper will make you forget how good they are for you!

#ProPlantTips For Care

Fruiting shrubs need the full sun to do their best, favoring the morning sun to dry their leaves. Plant in USDA growing zones 5 through 8 in well-drained, acidic soil.

Plant Draper in organically enriched, fertile soil with a thick layer of mulch over the roots for insulation and moisture retention.

Pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before you see new growth. Partially self-fertile, you’ll get a much larger yield with a pollination partner.

Named after the highly successful USDA breeder, Dr. Arlen D. Draper, the qualities of this fruit have propelled it to be one of the most frequently planted varieties in the world! Order yours today at NatureHills.com!
