Pop one or more of these specialty evergreens in your landscape for a crisp, polished look each season. Our designer Blue Princess Holly Pyramidal Topiary (Ilex x meserveae 'Blue Princess') stays green all year-long.

Topiary is an ancient pruning technique to bring an effective structural element into your garden plan. Our expert growers have carefully crafted these Blue Princess Holly shrubs into a perfect pyramidal cone over many years.

Planting and Application:

One of our most popular Hollies, Blue Princess features gorgeous, prickle-edged, blue-green foliage and purple stems. Add a Blue Prince Holly nearby to successfully pollinate up to six of these Princess topiaries for bright red berries at Holiday Time!

  • These durable shrubs make excellent "Thrillers" in hardy outdoor containers. Enjoy them year after year anywhere you want a showy specimen.
  • Enjoy a formal appeal with an even number of Blue Princess Holly Pyramidal Topiary used on either side of an entrance or straight garden path. Space them evenly for a calm, restful garden experience.
  • Uncover opportunities to increase the visual appeal of your landscape. Do you and your guests have something amazing to study from the deck?
  • Create a beautiful view with an odd number of our high-end Blue Holly bush Topiaries planted in a curved island planting bed. Remove sod from your lawn, add a border of landscape pavers and mulch to a depth of three inches.
  • Complete your new planting bed with a smaller odd number of your favorite flowering plants in front. Like the setting of a fine jewelry ring...your Holly Topiaries become the framing backdrop to set off a collection of exquisite Hybrid Tea Roses, for example.

#ProPlantTips for Care:

Give Blue Princess either full sun or partial shade, where it will receive at least four hours of sunlight a day. Provide well-drained soil; or elevate them in a raised bed if your soil drains slowly after rain.

  • Get more expert planting tips from our Horticulture Staff. Be sure to include symbiotic Nature Hills Root Booster in the planting hole for life-long support of the tiniest feeder roots.
  • Apply a regular, even schedule of water to keep your garden investments happy, healthy and stress-free. Feed with an evergreen fertilizer formula as directed by the label instructions.
  • Shear to shape twice a year in early spring and mid-summer to maintain the shape; simply following the established outline. For berries, consider using hand pruners to tip prune wayward branches back into the canopy and avoid trimming off all the tiny white flowers.
