Prairie Sun Black-Eyed Susan

Out of stock

The Black-Eyed Susan, Prairie Sun, 'Rudbeckia hirta 'Prairie Sun', is a 2003 All American Selections Winner.

This plant is striking in a perennial garden as it shows off its large 5 inch blooms!  It has unusual central green cones with orange petals that fade to yellow on tips.

The stems are very sturdy, making 'Prairie Sun' a great choice for a cut flower.  The showy flowers also attract butterflies.

The Prairie Sun is sometimes called a 'gloriosa daisy' or a cone flower.  It has a long blooming season, from summer into fall.

The ‘Prairie Sun’ Black-eyed Susan is used in annual beds, wild gardens, mass plantings, and in borders.

It grows well in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun.  This Black-eyed Susan tolerates hot and humid summers, is drought resistant once established, and appreciates good air circulation.

‘Prairie Sun’ would be a stunning addition of color to any yard, especially when planted in mass!

* Heat and humidity tolerant
