Black Diamond Shell Pink Crape Myrtle
Coral-pink Blooms Dance Over BLACK Foliage!
Black-leaved plants are always show-stoppers in the garden, but especially so when they are also covered in beautiful pink blooms! Shell Pink Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia ‘Shell Pink’) is a new introduction from the Black Diamond line of crape myrtles that brings this great look to your home garden.
This stunning garden plant will stand out wherever you put it in your landscape. It makes an excellent foundation plant and a beautiful fence border or flowering hedge. Plant it in a large container on the patio for an instant eye-catcher.
The coral-pink blooms pop against the black foliage. They are full and ruffled and cover the tree in soft drifts of color. This is an intermediate crape myrtle so it blooms from spring through fall and only grows to about 10’ tall and 8’ wide. It handles pruning well and can be kept much shorter if you want. Try it as a show-stopping 3’ flowering hedge, especially in the south.
The leaves transform from spring green into nice fall colors in the autumn. This is a great 3-season shrub.
Shell Pink Magic resists powdery mildew and is drought tolerant once it is established.
This is an easy shrub to grow and will make a big impression in your garden.
