These are of course choice blooms later in the summer for all your beneficial pollinators, butterflies and honeybees!
These Herbs are wonderful annual accents and versatile ornamentals throughout all growing zones! Basil is a bushy and redolent Herb that is a joy to harvest or just brush past. While Rosemary is a Mediterranean plant that loves hot arid sites and can be considered evergreen in USDA growing zones 8 and up as long as winters are mild and above freezing! Oregano is a multi-branched, sometimes sprawling groundcover that has been known to overwinter in USDA zones 5 and up, in protected greenhouses and indoor pots!
All of these space-saving plants are fantastic annual Herbs, accents, and edible landscaping ornamentals, and perfect even if you don't have a yard! Pot up these plants in containers on your windowsill, porch or patio container gardens. Use as garden edging and in Sensory Gardens, in a sunny window box, or as a fragrant and versatile gift! Herbal vinegar, herbed butter, and dried herbal décor, and spices are awaiting you!
Add Rosemary both fresh or dried to sweet and savory dishes, use it to scent soaps, make essential oils, or kick up the flavor of drinks and sauces! You can even create herbal beauty products for better health! Leafy Basil can also be used fresh or dried in any dish to greatly enhance the flavor, as well as top off any dish as a lovely garnish! Oregano does best fresh or dried in any dish that isn't cooked for long periods of time (you may lose some of that zesty flavor!) and is a wonderful general-purpose seasoning!
Herb plants are very easy to care for and just need a full sun location in well-drained soil. Indoor plants need a bright window in well-drained containers. Water regularly but don't overwater to keep them pumping out the aromatic greenery all summer long. Rosemary can tolerate arid conditions once established and prefers soil on the drier side. Provide an enriched site with good drainage and mulch to keep the roots cool. Container plants can be brought in for the winter in cold hardiness zones.
To use, just trim off what you need for fresh and pinch-back leggy bits to encourage branching. Before frost, harvest your plants and dry them for use until next spring if you don't bring the plants indoors for the winter. Hang harvested Herbs upside down in loose bundles in good air circulation to dry, or use a dehydrator, or low-temperature oven until crumbly! Store in sealed jars with a label and a date - and enjoy!

Plant Sentry is designed to protect both consumers and the nursery trade from invasive plant pests and diseases. Sites that display the Plant Sentry protection badge are protected from consumers buying and nurseries shipping material carrying invasive pests and diseases.
This proprietary eCommerce software prevents the shipment of a restricted plant to each state. The Plant Sentry system includes a shipment certification program.
