Organic Heirloom White Pearmain Apple Tree

The White Pearmain Organic Heirloom Apple, Malus domestica 'White Pearmain', is an aromatic, pale yellow and sporadically brushed with brownish-red markings. White Pearmain are medium to large-sized apples, uniform in shape, and have russet dots peppering the waxy exterior. Producing a rather tough skin, the firm flesh inside is yellowish-white, crisp and juicy. This apple stores well, and the skin turns yellowish in storage and develops a rubbery feel, but the insides are unaffected. Known as the oldest English apple tree, it is a vigorous, self-fertile variety that also serves as a great pollinizer for other trees. It is widely sold throughout the South and prized for its fresh eating qualities. White Pearmain ripens in September to October and is a fairly good keeper. Use for fresh eating, desserts, cooking (puree, applesauce, apple butter), baking, juice or hard cider.
