The Washington DC Cherry Tree

The Yoshino Cherry Tree (Prunus x yedoensis) is so beautiful and graceful that it’s the star of The Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. Every year thousands of people converge on our nation’s capital to see the hundreds of Yoshino Cherry Trees in bloom.

Thanks to Nature Hills Nursery, though, you can now bring home a bit of that world-renowned beauty to your own yard.

Your Yoshino Cherry Tree bursts into bloom in spring and the flowering will last for several weeks. The young blooms are a pale pink that matures to white with a slight pink hue. The clusters of flowers are so bright they almost glow.

A nice bonus to the stunning flowers is the wonderful, almond-like smell they give off. Light spring breezes will carry the scent throughout your yard.

As summer swings in and the flowers disappear, green leaves and shiny black decorative fruit take their place. Then, when summer gives way to fall, the glossy dark green foliage turns a deep golden-orange.

Your Yoshino Cherry Tree performs best in full sun in any well drained soil. It grows very quickly to 20 feet. One tree will be the focal point of any neighborhood. Imagine how your driveway will look flanked by a pair of these trees, or even lined down its length. Make sure that you plant this tree where you and your neighbors can enjoy it.

Since these trees are so highly coveted for their beauty, ease and fragrance we can’t guarantee how long this year’s stock will last, so please reserve yours today!

* Stunning blooms
* Adaptable
* Drought resistant

Impressive trees Review by Bare root believer
Rating
I never bought a bare root tree but the price convinced me to try it with the Yoshino. Although I didn't realize they arrive dormant, they are SO much easier to plant without the pot & dirt. It seemed to come alive pretty soon after planting and now I'm back to buy other bare root trees from Nature Hills. I trust their quality. My only recommendation is to make planting directions easier. Trying to read the small print on the back of the packing slip was not easy.

The only good reason I can see about going to Washington DC is the show these Yoshino cherries put on in the spring.
Best looking tree you can get Review by Rick Aster

This is the most beautiful tree there is. I've always had some on my property since I was a kid because my mom loves them so much. I just closed on my new home in January and the first thing i did after closing was to buy 4 of these for my yard. The plants arrived with leafs and the root system looks good, and they seam to be taking well to their new home. I planted them in the front yard and plan to get a few more for the back.
Yoshino cherry tree Review by cathy

Was sent a wonderfully healthy small tree last spring, planted it in 2 days of arrival, and it bloomed white blossoms at the end of every branch this spring after growing a two feet and branching out last summer. Fall color was golden to red bronze, which was very pretty. The branch habit is horizontal and fairly open, so I look forward to a really nice specimen tree in the front yard someday. Neighbors are already commenting on how pretty it is. Nature Hills, thank YOU so much!
