Terra Cotta Yarrow
Spreading Yarrow that Loves Sun & Humidity
The Terra Cotta Yarrow, Achillea millefolium 'Terra Cotta', is an upright salmon pink with flowers that age to rusty terracotta orange. The flowers bloom from June through September.
With silvery ferny foliage, it is beautiful when planted in front of dark foliaged perennials or mixed with blue flowers. Use this plant in borders, containers, mass plantings, or in rock gardens.
The flower heads are 3-4” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 36”. ‘Terra Cotta’ Yarrow is excellent for cuttings, fresh or dried, in mass plantings or as a border plant.
Terra Cotta is inclined to spread, so site this carefully. This Yarrow can tolerate poor soil conditions, but does best in lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. (Avoid heavy clays and moist, rich, fertile soils.)
Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant to hot humid summers. Remove faded flowers to encourage more growth and divide every 3-4 years.
