Spreading groundcover adds a pop of color
The Wojos Jem Periwinkle, Vinca maculata 'Wojo's Jem' (PP11809), is a selection of trailing vinca with creamy yellow leaf centers edged and flecked with dark green. It has large leaves and this major vinca is sometimes commonly called Wojo's Jem Vinca Vine, Large Periwinkle, Greater Periwinkle or Blue Buttons.
Use as a spreading groundcover to brighten shade gardens. 'Wojo's Jem' looks beautiful cascading down slopes, banks, walls and curbs. The violet-blue, 2-inch spring flowers, bloom sporadically into the fall season.
Wojo's Jem Vinca Vine may not survive harsh winters even if grown in a protected location; may be best utilized as an annual for pots, baskets and containers. Herbaceous perennial in warmer zones and an annual in colder zones.
This vinca is best grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. The plants prefer moist, humusy soils in part shade, but tolerate close to full shade.
When planting, space 8” apart for quick cover of smaller areas; space 12-18” apart to cover large areas. This vinca is pest and disease free.
