Graceful & Elegant Willow with Golden Coloring

Niobe Weeping Willow is a popular Willow cultivar for its golden yellow coloring. Plant one in a side or back yard where space is sufficient for its size and spread.  This tree would also do well in those low, moist spots in your yard where other trees may struggle.

Willows are known for their falling canopy of foliage that seems to rise up from the center only to cascade down again in a graceful arch reminiscent of a waterfall.

The branchlets shift and flow on the breeze giving rise to a rhythmic dance and soothing rustling that further adds to this unique tree’s allure.

A Willow is simply one of the most elegant and restful trees you can have in your yard, and the Niobe cultivar is no exception.

Your Niobe Weeping Willow is recognized for its coloring.  The four-inch, narrow leaves have finely-toothed edges that maintain a lively green-yellow color during the summer months.  The leaves also have a whitish hue on the undersides, a charming compliment to the vibrant foliage and decorative golden bark.

Your Niobe Weeping Willow is a fast-growing tree, reaching heights of 60 feet or more with at least a 40 foot spread.  It doesn’t mind being trimmed, and left to grow naturally, its branchlets will reach right down to the ground.

Niobe is tolerant of deer and can withstand some drought when mature.  Niobe is one of the hardiest of the Willows, and even in the winter months is sure to delight with its golden coloring.  It’s also popular as shelter for birds.

The Willow is valued for its uniquely beautiful appearance and will certainly be a valued asset to your landscape.

I was researching a tree for my cold area and was happy to find that the Niobe can survive in zone 2. It is not very often one can find a tough, yet beautiful tree for these conditions.

This is one stout tree. We have had some sever winters and winds and the Niobe continues to come back every year. It surprised me how fast it grew and I am glad I gave it plenty of room to spread. Just lovely!

Love, love this tree. It is so pretty as it drapes to the ground. I have it planted near a pond so the reflection often catches my eye...almost like a painting!
