Tulip Poplar

Fast-growing shade tree with a true “WOW” factor.

“WOW!” People will pull up to your yard and gawk. This beautiful shade tree is covered in spring with flowers that look for all the world like large tulips growing from the branches. The ‘tulips’ – in shades of yellow, green and orange – are so beautiful that museums and botanical gardens around the country have Tulip Tree walks, where paths are lines with these remarkable bloomers.

The Tulip Poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera), also called the Tulip Tree or Yellow Poplar, is actually a member of the Magnolia family. You can tell the family resemblance when you smell the air around a blooming Tulip tree. The fresh, light magnolia-like perfume will stop you in your tracks.

Throughout the summer the 5 inch leaves blanket your Poplar in a vibrant green.  Its natural conical canopy will shade your family and provide relief from the summer heat.
Then, in autumn, your Tulip Poplar puts on a spectacular display again when its leaves turn a brilliant lemon yellow. Talk about a “WOW” factor…
The Tulip Poplar is also valued for the large quantities of nectar it produces each year and is a veritable magnet for wildlife.  Planting this Poplar in your yard will attract cardinals, hummingbirds, and butterflies.
The Tulip Poplar is so beautiful that it’s the state tree for three different states, so doesn’t your yard deserve one too? Don’t wait until they’re all gone. Order yours from Nature Hills today.

A must for every landscape Review by Hales
Our large tulip tree has been amazing this Fall season. It holds onto it's golden leaves, and then it turns this delightful orange. It is an outstanding deer-resistant tree!

My outstanding tulip tree. Review by Zillon
My tree is 20 or 30 feet high, rather narrow, perfect for a small front yard, and the flowers are so beautiful that walkers stop by to look at them and marvel over them. It's about 20 years old.
Tulip Poplar Review by RS
I was in Chile and saw these trees planted in a park. They were beautiful! When I found it available at Nature Hills I thought the price was reasonable, so I bought one. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of tree I received (about 7 ft tall). It was packaged nice and the tree was in good shape. Although the buds havent opened up yet (still early spring) to give it my full opinion of the health of the tree, I think it was a good value for what it was priced at. Cant wait to see it when the leaves open up and hopefully some nice tulips!
Fast growing Review by Jen
A car left the street and ran into my young, beautiful tulip poplar this winter. I just read your description on your website and all you say is true, if only I could get a bigger one to replace the big one I had.
