Arborvitae - Globe
The Globe Arborvitae, Thuja occidentalsis, is a globe shaped dwarf arborvitae tree. This Arborvitae tree has bright green foliage and is one of the hardiest growing evergreen trees. It does not need to be sheared to maintain the globe shape!
The Globe tree or shrub thrives in full sun or light shade, and can grow in a variety of soil conditions. This shrub has great appeal as a specimen planting or as an accent shrub in a garden area.
This arborvitae is rather drought resistant, and can withstand cold temperatures. If planted in hotter summer temperatures, partial shade should be provided to prevent browning on the tips of the leaves.
Once the Globe is planted, it requires little maintenance; fertilizer may be applied every few years or so to aid in faster growing.
The Globe arborvitae is also very easy to grow en mass, and will make a good wind block for shorter, more fragile plants!
