Fast-Growing Privacy or Accent Plant

The Emerald Green Thuja is a fast-growing, hardy arborvitae.  It would make a superb privacy hedge along your property line or beside your backyard pool.  These also make an excellent wind-break or foundation plant.
 
“Smaragd” is Danish for “emerald”, which perfectly describes the color of this pyramid-shaped conifer.  You’ll be amazed how its dense-growing, soft-to-the touch foliage remains a vibrant emerald green all year round. 
 
Once established, you won’t have to even water this fast-growing cedar.  You’ll see a foot of growth each year that will only slow when it’s 10 - 15 feet in height.  Pruning isn’t necessary either.  Even when it reaches its maximum dimensions, this Thuja will maintain its tight form.
 
If you decide to trim your Thuja, save a few sprigs to place around the house.  The citrus-like evergreen scent will lend a fresh bouquet to the ambience of your home, especially during the holidays.  Holiday wreaths made from the Thuja boughs are a favorite of many people.
