Thundercloud Plum

Prized for Enduring Color and Elegant Spring Display

Thundercloud Plum is a deciduous, ornamental tree. One would look spectacular in your front or side yard where you can enjoy its seasonal display.  It’s perfect for a Japanese garden, or anywhere you’d like an extravagant, showy specimen tree.

Your Thundercloud Plum is prized as a landscape tree due to its elegant, dark-purple foliage that maintains its unique color throughout the season.  However, it also has other stellar attributes that add to its decorative allure.

Thundercloud Plum displays bowl-shaped, white flowers that bloom in spring before the foliage even emerges. Each solitary bloom is kissed with pink, creating the effect of a cloud of pink perfection amid the spring branches.

This fresh burst of color is a hearty welcome to the coming summer season.  The fragrant flowers are sometimes followed by 1-inch, purple fruits that are edible, but save some for your wildlife as they’ll enjoy them even more.

Thundercloud Plum is a fast-growing, upright tree with a somewhat spreading nature.  It quickly shoots up to 15 -25 feet, displaying a tall silhouette and round vase shape to its dense crown.  Thundercloud Plum is considered a low maintenance tree and even tolerates deer and rabbits.

Thundercloud Plum is a highly decorative tree with beautiful foliage that will indeed help you achieve the perfect country garden!

Not a lot of trees available in my area with purple foliage like the Thundercloud plum has. Very attractive.
Small yard tree Review by Leora K
I purchased a thundercloud plum because I wanted a plant with purple foliage. I was going to try a crimson king maple then I found out it would get to big for my small yard. I like the thundercloud very much as it is growing fast.
