Blue and Grey Covers Hot and Dry
The Cauticola Sedum, Sedum 'Cauticola', is a succulent sedum. It has a mounding habit used frequently as a groundcover. It spreads at a more moderate pace than other sedums and can be controlled by pruning.
It has low cushions of 5" purple-edged blue-gray foliage. As a bonus, butterflies love the pink starry flowers appear in late summer. The flowers prolong the season as they slowly turn carmine.
'Cauticola' Sedum is well suited for hot, dry, sunny areas and works well in many soil types. It makes a great plant for filling in around rocks or for the perennial border.
Seed heads will die at season's end but remain on plant. Remove old flower heads in autumn or early spring to maintain a neat appearance.
