Raspberry - Amity, Rubus idaeus 'Amity', produces large, firm, dark red berries with classic raspberry flavor and superior quality. This Rubus Raspberry is more resistant to root rot and aphids and can take somewhat heavier soils than others. Involving two crops, Amity produces on its first year growth in late August, and again on the second year old wood the following June! Amity is a week or so earlier than Heritage but does not bear quite as heavily. It is an upright, deciduous, prickly shrub native to North America. It should be pruned twice a year but seems to get by fine with being pruned once a year. Amity raspberry is great for the home gardener due to its luscious dark red berries with that delicious, timeless raspberry flavor. Use can for canning, freezing, baking or fresh eating!
