The Tomcot Apricot is a very consistent and productive apricot variety. The large, orange fruit is firm and the flesh is sweet. The Tomcat Apricot will be ready for harvest, 2-3 weeks before Wenatchee Moorpark and 4 days before Goldstrike and Goldbar. This fruit tree is partly self-fruitful but they will produce larger crops if cross-pollinated by another apricot. The fruit ripens in early July, 2.5 weeks before Wenatchee and 4 days before Goldstrike and Goldbar. The skin is a light-orange color and slightly glossy. A trace of blush develops on the side that is exposed to the sun. The pit is medium-large and free from the flesh.

Leafed out quickly last May. Still in Winter dormancy as of Mid April., 4/13/2009 7:05:44 PM

I planted Tomcot late May 2008. Because I orderd so late in the Season and had it delivered to my Phoenix AZ Work address where it is warm, the Tomcot arrved in the Box already starting to Leaf out. I was a bit concerned. I planted the Tree in Lakeside, AZ Elevation is 6,800 and has a very late Frost date. Within a few days of Planting, The Tree finished Leafing out and had a nice shape to it. As of 4/13/09, The Tree has not come out of this years winter dormancy. It did snow yesterday in the White Mountians(Northeastern AZ? , So I think it is stil a few weeks away from blooming. I am looking fiorward to the Apricots in future years.
