The Techny Arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis, is a fast growing Arborvitae tree that grows well in full sun or light shade. Techny arborvitae trees are very winter hardy. This cultivar is the most resistant to winter and drought damage and is the Arborvitae of choice for tougher conditions.

This beautiful evergreen species has a deep dark green color. It can be sheared to shape when used as a hedge or privacy screen.

Techny trees are wonderful and more original privacy borders than the ever popular emerald green arborvitae. They have a wonderful, clean, and sweet smell. A lovely addition to a nice sized backyard. They grow at a decent rate, maybe 2 ft per year and get nice and full around so you do not need as many as you would need to make a lush border with the emerald green arborvitae.
