The Tigridia Mixed, 'Tigridia', a spring planted corm, produces large red flowers. Tigridia are also known as Mexican Shell Flowers and Tiger Flowers. The blooms adorn tall stems and appear to float above the foliage. They are very pretty when used in sunny borders or beds. The foliage of Tigridia is similar to gladiolus, and it produces several flowers per stalk. The common name comes from the spots on the flowers that look like tiger spots.
