Sweet Pea - Ocean Foam Details:

The Sweet Pea Ocean Foam, 'Lathyrus odoratus', is a special blend of heirloom old spice sweet peas that are highly scented and heat resistant. The Ocean Foam is a blend of navy, med-blue, light blue and cream colored 1 to 2 inch flowers. The sweet peas bloom in the spring and the duration of blooming depends on the weather. The plants stop blooming once the weather warms up. They will generally bloom 3 to 5 weeks.

A key element in successful growing of the Sweet Pea Ocean Foam is very early planting. The sweet pea prefers deep, rich, fertile soil. Use lots of peat or compost for early spring planting. Plant this Sweet Pea in full sun, but in a cool a spot as possible. Position them away from winds and rotate locations from year to year to prevent sweet pea pests. In cold climates plant the seed in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked. In warm climates, plant in October through January for spring bloom. They are used for cut flowers, ground cover, fence and wall covering, and in large pots.

I keep going back to this mix of sweet peas; the colors are a lovely cool palette of soft lavender, deep violet, blue, and white, and the divine fragrance these lovely blooms give to the garden is powerful but never overwhelming. These vines are incredibly prolific bloomers, heat-tolerant and disease-resistant, an excellent germination rate, all told this mix is a tried-and-true favorite but never boring, so nearty that it fills my garden with flowers while still giving me many more bouquets to bring indoors. I've tried many varieties of sweet peas over the years and I've never had as much success as I've had with this mix, I heartily recommend these for any gardener as beautiful, fragrant, and easy to grow.
