The Gaura Karalee White, 'Gaura hybrids', a Proven Winners selection, have numerous butterfly-shaped prolific white flowers that bloom from late spring to early summer. ‘Karalee White’ is one of the dwarf forms in its family. The green foliage makes a great contrast with its flower color. With a plant height of 8-12” and a width of 24-36”, it is definite addition to any perennial garden.

‘Karalee White’ Gaura requires full sun in a well-drained area with average to rich soil and is very drought tolerant. A major attraction to butterflies, it continues to bloom through the first hard frosts of autumn into winter. ‘Karalee White’ looks great on a rocky ledge, near bricks and stones, near Sedum 'Autumn Joy' or small dahlias. It's also enchanting with pink bush roses and as a contrast to plants with big fleshy leaves.

I have many years of gardening experience and 5 different perennial gardens. Last year was the first year I planted gaura...I had read about it many times and saw it at a garden center...was so excited to give it a try. Well, it was spectacular last summer.....bloomed from spring through the fall!!!! Unfortunately it is May 1st and I am doubtful that it is coming back! It looks like it is dead...of course I fertilized, etc. and havent completely lost hope!! Is this a late bloomer? Im talking any kind of buds, sprouts, anything!! I wont give up hope altogther but found a few more and found some great locations. They are "almost" worth it to have for one year but I hope it will return!!
