Product Description:

Hosta Blue Ivory, Hosta 'Blue Ivory' PPAF, is a medium size sport of 'Halcyon' that has thick foliage and is slug resistant. In the spring, the leaves showcase a wide, creamy white margin with a blue center, but by summer the margins turn white and the centers become blue-green. Hosta 'Blue Ivory' PPAF produces lavender flowers on 20 - 24" scapes, and in the late summer heat the margins of the leaves may take on a greenish blue hue. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas. They are most at home in shady, woodland settings and often work well as specimen or edging plants.
