Giant Reed Grass, Arundo donax 'Variegata', is one of the most spectacular of all variegated perennials! The striking leaves of Arundo d. 'Variegata' are over 3 inches wide with variegation that is bright white during the cool season, becoming creamy-yellow during the summer. It is a wonderful specimen plant that is shorter and less aggressive than the species, but the same great impressive flowers and winter interest as species, just a different color. Very nice in the winter landscape against the snow. Use as a huge specimen, screening, or for large perennial beds or borders. Clumping habit helps to keep the giant manageable. Grasses are easy to grow, and adapt to most conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer. Stem used for wood wind reeds, hence the name "Giant Reed Grass".
