The Golden Raintree, Koelreuteria Paniculata, is an excellent tree and unrivaled for late yellow flowers. Golden Raintrees are also known as Chinese Flame trees. It is one of the very few yellow flowering trees. This deciduous tree is excellent as a small lawn tree, or for shading a patio.

Golden Raintrees display a beautiful show of fall color with 2 inch golden seed pods against a dark green-leafed background. The seed pods look like tiny Chinese lanterns. It has rounded outline, spreading and ascending branches, open, reddish copper-colored foliage in the spring. It is a tough and an adaptable tree used for many landscaping applications. They are very tolerant of polluted air environments.

my golden raintree is a show stopper! It is simply gorgeous when so many other trees and flowers in Texas are in a transitional season right now. I know I can count on it each October. It also attracts bees and butterflies and is maintenance/insect free.

If anyone is going to Cameron, there is a gorgeous rain tree on the right hand side of FM 2095 just a couple miles before it ends at HWY 36. I have lived in the area 20 years and have never seen one like it in this area. It is growing just inside a fence right by the road. It is beautiful now 11/9/06. Pat

I love yellow thats why I ordered this tree. It came my mail in this long box. I looked at this tree because it was just a "stick" and I thought oh boy I have to keep this alive. Well I have had it for a week now and this stick has LEAVES!!!! I cannot believe it is growing this fast. I love this tree already.

Golden Raintrees are VERY prolific! Those lovely red pods contain at least nine potential trees. Never use them to mulch around other plants as you will have raintrees for life where you dont want them. We have had raintrees grow in styrofoam coolers with no dirt at all.

My very young raintree has lost all his branches for the past 2 winters. It looks great in the summer and has grown to be at least 8 feet tall. Is this normal for a raintree?
