Product Description:

Flame Amur Maple (sometimes called Siberian Maple because it’s so cold-hardy) is a great solution when you don’t have the space but still want the premium fall color of a maple. Flame Amur Maple’s creamy yellow spring blossoms last for two weeks and smell just wonderful. Throughout the summer, the glossy green of the leaves stays true, and in mid-summer, you’ll get the bright red samaras or “helicopters” that spin to the ground. The “flame” in the name refers to its blazing red autumn color. Train it as a single-trunk tree to look more like a crabapple, or leave it as a tall spreading shrub and use it as a hedge, divider or screen. Best grown in regular old garden soil (alkaline is OK) in full sun to partial shade. It tolerates temperature extremes and transplants easily. Zones 3-8.
