The Hosta 'Elegans', Hosta sieboldiana, is an extra large Hosta with heart-shaped leaves. Being blue-green in color, it has a heavy, deeply tucked texture with powdery like cast which make it very striking. The white flowers bloom from July to August, however, Hosta’s are not known only for their flowers. With a plant height of 30” and a spread of 48-60”, Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage.

Hosta ‘Elegans’ needs to be planted in a full shade area in any moist, well-drained area. This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions, tubs and patio pots, and one of the most popular for landscape uses. A great choice for any beginner gardener.

I was surprised to see little baby hostas growing under the "mother" plant - not just underneath, but several feet away from the plant itself! Ive potted them up and am giving away to friends, and planting in different spots. They are in a shady spot.
