The Butterfly Plant A. Tuberosa, 'Asclepias', displays beautiful orange flowers. It is a beacon for butterflies and a low care perennial. Excellent for borders, as tall ground cover or for cut flowers. This plant is one of the most attractive plants for butterfly gardens; as a nectar source. Its beautiful clusters of orange flowers begin blooming in early summer and last well into fall. It prefers to be planted in full sun and needs well drained soil. Use in mass plantings, as a border plant, or as a tall ground cover. In fall the milkweed-type seed pods can be picked for dried arrangements. Tolerates poor, sandy soil.
