The Amaryllis Double 'Blossom Peacock', 'Hippeastrum', unfolds large, fully double blooms in delicate white with a pink fringe. Amaryllis are great for cut flowers and they also can be grown indoors. This plant is resistant to deer. Of all flowering bulbs, amaryllis are the easiest to bring to bloom. This can be accomplished indoors or out, and over an extended period of time. The large flowers and the ease with which they can be brought to bloom make amaryllis popular.

This is a great plant because they are easy to grow and have big flowers that brighten any indoor winter scene. The amaryllis comes in many beautiful shades of red, white, pink, salmon, orange and multicolored varieties. The planting period extends from October to April and the flowering period lasts for 7 to 8 weeks. Amaryllis can be grown outdoors in frost free areas. They also can be grown in colder regions. In cold regions, pull up the bulbs before winter, and store them until spring.
