The Ajuga, 'Black Scallop', Ajuga reptans 'Black', has 'dark as night' foliage with gorgeously scalloped leaves. Black Scallops are a knock out in patio pots, combos, and as a striking accent with white, gold or light-colored plants.

The very dark and glossy scalloped foliage, are larger than 'Mahogany' and darker than 'Catlin's Giant'. It displays deep blue flower spikes. It is suitable for full sun or shade. The plants have short growth habits, 3 to 6" and are hardy to zone 4. A very striking plant to supply color to your garden or patio.

I can say without a doubt that the "Black Scallop" is the ground cover that will set the standard for Ajugas to follow. I planted (30) 4" pots in filtered sun light for a client in beds bordering the front entrance. They survived Californias coldest winter in 19 years. I must say they surpased even my expectations. Theyre a stunning statement to greet visitors.
