In summer, the foliage is a striking bright gold that will surely get attention in the garden. Having great garden architecture, Sunjoy Gold Beret will display bright orange-red autumn foliage that is stunning. The compact size of Sunjoy™ Gold Beret makes it perfect for the front of the border, or as an accent for small areas in the landscape. The first upright golden barberry with red new growth, this plant is burn resistant. Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates light shade, but needs full sun to develop best foliage color. Very adaptable shrub that is tolerant of many pollutants in urban areas. 'Sunjoy™ Gold Beret' needs a well drained area and can tolerate some drought. Use 'Sunjoy Gold Beret' intermingled with other plants to fill in the middle ground of a combination.
