Hardy Tall Nicki Phlox
The Hardy Tall Phlox Nicki, 'Phlox paniculata', exhibits deep violet purple flowers, and is one of the finest Hybrid Phlox varieties available.
‘Nicki’ blooms in profusion with huge 5-6" flower heads all summer. The flowers are fragrant and showy, with brilliant non-fading colors.
Growing 2-3' tall, this tall phlox is excellent for perennial borders, corners and for cut flowers. The foliage is dense and compact with deep green, lance-shaped leaves with prominent veins. Butterflies love them!
Plant ‘Nicki’ about 18-20" apart in rich, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. This phlox needs to be planted in a full sun area in well-drained soil and does well in rock gardens and as a border. It makes a marvelous, fragrant bouquet too. It is best to remove faded flowers to encourage more blooming.
Phlox plants, like ‘Nicki’, have become the backbone of summer perennial gardens. Once phlox plants are stressed, they will usually develop some degree of mildew so keep the location cool, slightly shaded, and provide humus moist soil.
What beauty the deep, violet purple, tightly clustered flowers offer all summer long. Make sure you order several for a magnificent sweep of color! ‘Nicki’ will give you tall columns of fragrant flowers, and it is one of the easiest perennials to grow…just a few reasons you must have this phlox!
