Sirius Water Lily
A Flotilla of Flowers
Named for the brightest star in the sky, this outstanding lily lives up to its name by producing large purplish-red flowers in profusion.
The leaves are maroon flecked before maturing to all green. ‘Sirius’ is truly a classic in the water lily world, hybridized by Latour-Marliac Nursery in 1913.
The purple-red flowers are 6-7 inches wide, the large leaves are 10-11 inches wide, and the overall plant spread is 5-6 feet wide.
This water lily grows best in full to partial sun. We recommend growing ‘Sirius’ in a 7.5 quart or larger container (available from naturehills.com).
Also available from naturehills.com is Aquatic Planting Media and Lilytabs Water Lily Fertilizer. Cannot be shipped to: AK, HI, CA, MT, OR, WA or WY.
