Sometimes we forget to include a show of white when designing our flower gardens.  Nature Hills offers a variety of white flowering perennials that bloom over the summer and even into fall.  The color of white tends to give a cooling effect on those hot summer days, and as the sun sets, they present a light glow during the evening.   A glint of white certainly will wake up that shaded area with a bit of bright highlights.

Use a carpet of white as a ground cover in a trouble area.  Phlox White Flame, 'Phlox paniculata', is an ideal ground cover with an abundance of white, pristine flowers and a thick mat of foliage.  Clematis, especially the Clematis Candida, is a vigorous grower and provides large pure white flowers.  It creates a great cover-up for unsightly areas and brightens up any wall, or fence.  Adding white to the fall scene is a grand idea for a lattice or wall.  Try Sweet Autumn Clematis, Clematis paniculata, which displays lovely white fragrant flowers where other summer plants begin to fade.
