Quick Overview
Sawyers Lavender, Lavandula 'Sawyers', displays dark blue flowers that contrasts well against a dense silver foliage that holds up well in cool, wet weather. Lavender prefers a drier well draining soil in full sun. It is easy to grow, fragrant, and adapts to most conditions. Feed once a year with a slow release fertilizer. Water the plants thoroughly in dry weather until the plant is well established. Remove dead flower stems and lightly trim in late summer. Straggly plants may be cut back hard in March or April. Lavender has many uses, from lavender wands and dried flowers for potpourri, to oil for aromatherapy products, colognes, lotions, and soaps. Lavenders are the most popular cottage-garden plants.
