Hosta - Blueberry Muffin
Big, Blue, and Puckered
The Hosta Blueberry Muffin, Hosta 'Blueberry Muffin', is an intense blue colored hosta that is the result of a cross between Hostas Frances Williams and Fall Bouquet.
The ‘Blueberry Muffin’ hosta forms a gorgeous mound of large, deep blue and round heavily puckered leaves. The petioles are sprinkled with red specks!
The leaves have ridges in unusual patterns and shift to a green color late in the season.
Hummingbirds love the lavender flowers that appear just above the foliage in early summer!
A strong and reliable grower, ‘Blueberry Muffin’ hosta remains very colorful throughout the growing season.
This low care perennial is ideal for shady positions. Hostas grow best in moist, well-drained, highly organic soils with a pH between 5.5 and 7.5.
High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth.
Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas!
‘Blueberry Muffin’ creates a stunning accent in a shaded area with its intense color and puckered leaves!
