Coneflower - Gum Drop

Echinacea Gum Drop (Coneflower), Echinacea 'Gum Drop', is a delightful new coneflower with an improved habit and compact size. Plant Gum Drop in masses for an outstanding touch of beauty in your yard! The huge, intense and charming, dark pink, pompom-style flowers are held over the pretty pink petals, and are supported on sturdy two foot stems. Gum Drop produces long lasting flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds; make gorgeous flower arrangements too! Echinacea provides a season-long colorful display of daisy-like flowers and will bring a brilliant display of bright pink colors to a sunny location. Divide clumps when they become overcrowded (about every 4 years). Gum Drop usually reblooms without deadheading, but if spent flowers are removed, this procedure will encourage continued beautiful blooms and improve general appearance. Coneflowers are used as accent plants or in mixed borders, open woodlands, and mass plantings. If you leave the coneflower seed heads on the plant at the end of the season, they will provide winter interest and food for native songbirds. This plant is deer resistant.
