Bergenia Pink Dragonfly (Pig Squeak), Bergenia 'Pink Dragonfly', has shiny cabbage-like leaves that have an unusually thick rubbery feel; makes a pig squeak sound you rub them between your fingers!
Pink Dragonfly is a low growing perennial that has clusters of bright tubular pink flowers with darker pink centers on 15" stalks from early to late spring. The flowers provide long lasting cut blooms for bouquets or cut flowers. The blooms attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
The 8" high foliage is green through the growing seasond and turns a reddish-bronze hue in fall . It may be evergreen in warmer climates.
It has a 8" high rosette of thick green leaves which are slow to spread. The thick green leaves are deer and rabbit resistant. It prefers part sun and consistent moist soil with good drainiage, but can adapt to a variety of sun and soil conditions.
Use this Bergenia as a groundcover, edging, in small spaces, as a specimen plant, or in a container.
