Lincoln Shell Peas are a disease-resistant strain of an old favorite. The peas are large with 3" long pods. The compact 18" - 30" vines are great for small gardeners; save space and make harvest easier, sow double rows with a trellis in between. Sow seeds 2 inches apart and cover with 1 to 1 1/2 inches of fine soil that you press firmly. Sow successive plantings at 3 week intervals until mid spring. Sow mid July to early August for fall harvest. Lincoln Peas are very productive and easy to shell. This pea has an exceptional sweetness and tenderness so is an excellent shelling pea for eating fresh, cooked, or frozen; more heat-tolerant than all, but Wando. (Resists CW.)
