Variations, such as, smudges, glaze droppings, kiln kisses, firing cracks, and/or fingerprints are part of handmade pottery. Sometimes fire cracks appear in the drying process. These are not an imperfection, but rather a characteristic of handmade pottery. In some cases much effort has been put into recreating an aged look.
